People with diabetes need to concern themselves with three specific areas of care; each area should be addressed by specialists who make up a three-pronged treatment team. Your physician will prescribe medication, a nutritionist can help you balance food intake, and your Lenard Fitness personal trainer will establish an exercise routine to counteract insulin-resistance, all leading to healthy blood sugar control.

Preventing Complications

To manage blood sugar levels and remain healthy, a holistic program is needed, with exercise as a key ingredient. Research has shown that regular exercise decreases high blood sugars and increases circulation, thereby reducing the risk of heart, eye, kidney and nerve problems. Following 6 - 7 exercise sessions, most people will see an improvement in blood sugar control.
